I've been meaning to update my blog much, much more frequently. Yet, here it is, the end of March already, and I feel lucky to get one post out each week! But, the good news is, I've been working on new designs and products and have been posting them to my main three sites: RedBubble, Society6, and Curioos.
I'm going to shoot for showcasing my new work here in the blog each week, providing some insight behind how I've created my images, posting in situ photos of different products, and highlighting what other designs are coming.
Shown above is one of my latest mandalas, Pastel Wave Mandala. I've been experimenting with new ways to make both fractals and mandalas while also veering towards lighter color palettes. For the longest time, my mandalas were very saturated in color and much darker. While I love those images, lighter, more pastel colors have been calling out to me.
My new Pastel Wave Mandala could work especially well in children's spaces. The tapestry, throw pillows, and throw blankets (below) would be wonderful in kids' rooms or a nursery / toddler's room. The light pink, blue, and purple of the mandala are gender neutral, but would definitely be lovely in rooms for baby girls up through their teenage years.
And for yoga enthusiasts, these all over printed mandala shirts for women would be great in yoga class, the gym, or just popping out to do errands.
I'm really loving the pastel and light feel of this mandala and think it would be lovely in other spaces than just those I mentioned above. For instance, the shower curtains, bath towel, and bath mats would be great in a bathroom for a lighter, more open feel, while the duffle bag, backpack, and tote bags would be fun to carry out to the gym, to school, or to the grocery.
What do you think? Are you loving the lighter, pastel mandalas or do you prefer the more colorful mandalas I've created in the past? As always, I love to hear from you, so leave a comment or drop me a line.
Look for another new design featured next week in my blog!
